The launch ceremony will be held during the World Hydrogen Summit, which is expected to gather eight thousand decision-makers, energy ministers, CEOs, and representatives from over 100 countries at Rotterdam Ahoy, between May 9 and 11.
Figueirêdo emphasizes that the visit of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands is a clear signal of the European market’s demand for green hydrogen. The Netherlands and Germany have already committed government funds to stimulate demand for the fuel in their respective countries and facilitate and favor exports from Brazil.
The president of the Pecém Complex also points out the partnership with Rotterdam as essential for the creation of this corridor. In 2018, the Ceará government negotiated with the Dutch government for the cession of 30% of the Port of Pecém, in order to expand exports from Ceará to Europe of various products. The Port of Rotterdam invested €7.5 billion in the Ceará terminal, which granted it the right to occupy positions on the Executive Board, Fiscal Council, and Administration Council.
