The Official Announcement Will Take Place on May 10, with the Presence of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, Who Will Be in the State of Ceará on the Occasion.
The initiative aims to transport H2V produced in Ceará directly to Europe, with the Netherlands as the main entry point.
The route has been planned since the significant increase in demand for green hydrogen worldwide, with the Port of Pecém seen as one of the ports with the greatest potential to attract investments related to the new fuel. Rotterdam, in turn, is considered the main entry point for all of Europe.
The President of the Pecém Complex, Hugo Figueirêdo, Highlighted the Importance of the Partnership and the Port’s Role in Supplying Green Hydrogen in Europe Through the Port of Rotterdam.
Mark Rutte will arrive in Ceará on May 9, with a visit to the Pecém Complex scheduled for the following day. Currently, Ceará already has 24 memoranda of understanding related to H2V signed between investors and the state government.

The crossing of a continent in less time than a domestic flight: Germany designs the SpaceLiner to take 50 passengers from Europe to Australia in 90 minutes, using a reusable rocket-plane that takes off like a space launcher, crosses the atmosphere in a hypersonic leap, and lands on a runway like a commercial spacecraft of the future.

He looks alien, and it’s on purpose: the Helios abandons the legs of common humanoid robots and gains four arms to move, anchor, and operate in zero gravity, with the promise of eventually even helping with the maintenance of satellites and structures in orbit.

More than three times faster than the Concorde, powered by hydrogen and launched by Rocket Lab’s rocket at Mach 7, the DART AE from Australia’s Hypersonix flew with a scramjet entirely 3D printed, with no moving parts, capable of targeting Mach 12, reigniting in full hypersonic flight, and paving the way for aircraft that do not emit CO2 in propulsion.
Three of these enterprises already have sealed pre-contracts and reserved area in the Ceará Export Processing Zone for the installation of factories: Fortescue, Casa dos Ventos, and AES. It is estimated that the total investment in these three projects alone will be around US$ 8 billion. The Port of Pecém is also expected to invest R$ 2.2 billion to equip the terminal with infrastructure capable of hosting the projects.
According to Figueirêdo, he will be in the Netherlands on the day of the event, while the governor Elmano de Freitas (PT) is expected to welcome the prime minister.
The Launch of the Green Hydrogen Corridor Still Sparks Expectations for the Signing of New Protocols.
The launch ceremony will be held during the World Hydrogen Summit, which is expected to gather eight thousand decision-makers, energy ministers, CEOs, and representatives from over 100 countries at Rotterdam Ahoy, between May 9 and 11.
Figueirêdo emphasizes that the visit of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands is a clear signal of the European market’s demand for green hydrogen. The Netherlands and Germany have already committed government funds to stimulate demand for the fuel in their respective countries and facilitate and favor exports from Brazil.
The president of the Pecém Complex also points out the partnership with Rotterdam as essential for the creation of this corridor. In 2018, the Ceará government negotiated with the Dutch government for the cession of 30% of the Port of Pecém, in order to expand exports from Ceará to Europe of various products. The Port of Rotterdam invested €7.5 billion in the Ceará terminal, which granted it the right to occupy positions on the Executive Board, Fiscal Council, and Administration Council.
