The agreement between the French multinational and the Ceará Government was signed through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which allowed for the implementation of initiatives aimed at improving environmental conditions in the region. Thus, the partnership between the parties has become an example for other companies looking to promote sustainable growth in their businesses.
Complex and the Project
Qair Brasil, a leader in the energy production sector, recently announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Ceará for the establishment of a green hydrogen production plant. The total investment projected is US$ 6.95 billion, and the project will aim at electricity generation through the Dragão do Mar Offshore Wind Complex and an offshore wind farm.
The Dragão do Mar Offshore Wind Complex will encompass an offshore plant with an installed capacity of 1,216 GW, located on the continental shelf off the coast of Acaraú-Ceará. Furthermore, an electrolysis plant with a capacity of 2,240 MW will be developed for an estimated annual production of around 296,000 tons. The Green Hydrogen Hub will be located at the Pecém Complex.
This important initiative from Qair Brasil aims to provide clean, safe, and reliable energy to power the entire country. The primary energy source will come from offshore winds, which makes the project extremely profitable in the long run. However, the production of this green fuel will significantly contribute to reducing harmful emissions and significantly improving air quality in major urban centers in Brazil.
Thus, local authorities are working hard to promote sustainable solutions that meet the needs of future generations present in the country without compromising available resources. It is expected that this project at the Pecém Complex can provide the expected benefits and serve as an example for other similar initiatives, which the country can rely on for a healthier and more prosperous future.
