With the aim of developing a new generation of young professionals in cybersecurity in the country, the technology giant Cisco Brazil has formed this partnership to benefit students from Technical Schools (Etecs) and Colleges of Technology (Fatecs) in the state, as well as individuals who are studying or have already completed High School, Technical, or Higher Education, interested in specializing in the field of cybersecurity. This is the first phase of the program, the 30th edition of the Cisco Brazil CyberEducation Marathon. The course offered by Cisco and Faetec is divided into phases and will provide professional training to students, as well as internship and job opportunities.
The first phase is the Learn-A-Thon, a training marathon aimed at stimulating and empowering students in the exploratory NetAcad course “Fundamentals of Cybersecurity.” Remember, students who pass this phase will receive a certificate and a digital badge, will be eligible to compete for scholarships for the next phases of the program.
Open to the general public, the first stage of the free course includes self-learning where the participant can follow at their own pace to complete the Fundamentals of Cybersecurity course (30h). Students who complete the marathon will receive a certificate and a digital badge.
Requirements to proceed:
- Have an interest in working in the cybersecurity sector.
- Have access to a computer and an Internet connection capable of developing virtual practical activities (Computer: i3 processor, Windows 10, 4GB RAM, and 27GB hard disk. Internet: 5Mb).
To proceed to the next stage of the Marathon, it is necessary for the student to have the completion certificate from the Marathon course – “Fundamentals of Cybersecurity” and to be among the top 1,500 in the selection test focused on general IT knowledge, Networking, and Cybersecurity, as well as interpersonal skills.
