The Current Highest Producing Platform of Petrobras, FPSO Carioca, Celebrates 1 Year of Operation
Petrobras informed the market in a relevant fact that the FPSO Carioca, a platform producing in the Sépia field in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin, has completed 1 year of operation last Tuesday (23/08). During this period, the floating production storage and offloading unit reached a cumulative production of about 39 million barrels of oil (operated production).
Currently, the FPSO Carioca is the largest platform in Brazil in terms of complexity and production, with about 175,000 barrels/day produced, a volume close to the projected maximum capacity of 180,000 barrels/day.

FPSO Carioca Has a Daily Processing Capacity of 6 Million m³ of Natural Gas.
According to Petrobras, the unit has a daily processing capacity of 6 million m³ of natural gas. In the current phase, the associated gas is used for electricity generation for its own consumption and the surplus is reinjected into the reservoir to maintain pressure through two injector wells. It is expected that by the end of 2022, the FPSO will export gas.

There is oil below the oil that Brazil already extracts: Petrobras confirmed a new accumulation in the Búzios field, at a depth of 5,600 meters, in a zone below the reservoir already operating in the Santos Basin.

404 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, an oil company drilled 5,855 meters into the ocean and discovered the largest oil and gas reserve found in a quarter of a century.
The Brazilian oil company stated that, in addition to these two injector wells, the platform currently has four interconnected production wells. Advancing in the ramp up process, the unit is expected to interconnect three more production wells and two injectors in the first wave of the project.
With its operation, Petrobras inaugurated production in Sépia, a pre-salt reservoir in the Santos Basin that encompasses the Sépia East field (concession regime) and the Co-participated Area of Sépia, where the onerous assignment and production sharing regimes coexist.
It is worth noting that the shared reservoir of Sépia is operated by Petrobras (55.30%) in partnership with TotalEnergies EP Brasil Ltda. (16.91%), Petronas Petróleo Brasil Ltda (12.69%), QP Brasil Ltda (12.69%), and Petrogal Brasil S.A. (2.41%).
