The federal government has confirmed the holding of a new contest for the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama), with the aim of filling 2,000 vacancies for the position of environmental analyst in several environmental agencies until 2027, according to the JC Concursos website.
This plan is part of the actions outlined in the Action Plans for Prevention and Control of Deforestation and Fires in the Cerrado Biome (PPCerrado) and Legal Amazon (PPCDam). The initiative was reinforced by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on June 18, 2023.

Contest Authorization and Expectations
On June 5, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Marina Silva, announced that the selections for environmental agencies were authorized by the Ministry of Management and Innovation of Public Services. For Ibama, 260 vacancies for higher education positions are planned. The last Ibama contest was held in 2021, offering 568 vacancies, of which 432 were for positions requiring secondary education and 136 for higher education. The salaries reached R$ 8,547.64. At that time, the organizing body was Cebraspe.
For positions requiring secondary education, 432 vacancies for the position of environmental technician were filled, with an initial salary of R$ 4,063.34. For higher education, there were 96 vacancies for environmental analyst and 40 for administrative analyst, both with initial salaries of R$ 8,547.64.
