The official authorization for the new public competition of the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Inmetro) was published in an extra edition of the official Federal Gazette last Friday (16). The Inmetro Competition had already been announced by the Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, as part of a series of federal competitions authorized by the Minister of Management and Public Innovation, Esther Dweck.
Inmetro Competition Will Have 100 Vacancies For Higher Education Candidates
According to the authorization published by the DOU, the institution now has a period of six months to publish the public competition announcement, that is, by December 16. The document also anticipates that the application of the tests should occur within a period of two months after the publication of the announcement.
The Inmetro competition makes available 100 vacancies that are divided into two positions, both requiring higher education, with starting salaries that can reach R$ 4,912.31.

The distribution of vacancies by position will be 40 for executive analyst in metrology and quality, with starting salaries of R$ 2,619.58. For the position of researcher – technology in metrology and quality, there will be 60 vacancies with starting salaries of R$ 4,912.31.
The executive analyst is responsible for developing planning, training, and logistics activities related to the exercise of institutional and legal competencies assigned to Inmetro, as well as undertaking coordination and execution activities for projects in legal metrology, quality, scientific and industrial, regulation, and technological information.
The researcher will be responsible for developing specialized activities in planning, inspection, coordination, technical assistance, and execution of projects in metrology and quality, among others.
Learn About The Last Inmetro Competition
The last public competition of Inmetro was held in 2014, with 80 vacancies for positions of medium and higher levels. At that time, the organizing bank was Idecan, and of the opportunities, 58 were for Rio de Janeiro, 12 for Rio Grande do Sul, and ten for Goiás.
For medium level, the available positions were executive assistant in metrology and quality and technician in metrology and quality. For higher education, there were vacancies for executive analyst in metrology and quality, senior specialist in metrology and quality, and researcher – technologist in metrology and quality.
With the exception of the specialist position, all others had as selection process an objective test with 60 multiple-choice questions on specific and basic knowledge. Candidates for the researcher-technician and analyst positions also underwent a discursive test and a training course with a workload of 120 hours.
The public competition of the institution for specialist consisted of an examination of public questioning and defense of the memorial, public questioning and defense of the work plan, and scoring based on titles and scientific and technological production.
