Public Competition: State-Owned Pre-Salt Company Offers Positions for Higher Education Professionals
The Pre-Salt Petroleum S.A. (PPSA), state-owned company responsible for managing oil and gas production sharing contracts, announced its first public competition to hire one hundred higher education professionals in 2025, with the additional aim of creating a reserve list. This selection process aims to meet the growing demand of the company for qualified personnel in various areas of expertise.
Distribution of Positions
The positions will be allocated to Rio de Janeiro and are divided among the following roles:
- Lawyer
- Corporate Management Analyst
- Information Technology Analyst
- Oil and Gas Specialist
In addition to covering the specific areas of operation within the state-owned company, the competition foresees a reserve of positions, with 5% for people with disabilities (PWDs) and 20% for self-declared black candidates, promoting inclusion and diversity.

Competition Stages
- Objective Tests: All candidates will take an objective test that will be administered in the first half of 2025.
- Discursive Tests: In addition to the objective test, candidates for the positions of lawyer and oil and gas specialist must take a discursive test.
The tests are scheduled to take place in three Brazilian capitals: Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Salvador.
Organization and Announcement
The PPSA has contracted the Institute of Development and Training (IDCAP) to organize and conduct the competition, ensuring that all stages occur according to schedule. According to the state-owned company, the announcement of the competition will be made by the end of the year, allowing interested parties to start their studies in advance.
Official Statement
Tabita Loureiro, acting president of the PPSA, emphasized the importance of this competition for the company’s future:
“Today, we have a team of 63 employees managing 24 production sharing contracts, working on individualization agreements, and marketing the Union’s loads. The next ten years are growth years, both in management and primarily in the marketing of oil and natural gas shares“, she stated.

The growth of PPSA’s activities, as mentioned by Tabita, includes contract management and the marketing of the Union’s oil and natural gas.
The forecast is that the demand for management and technical expertise will increase considerably in the coming years, justifying the need for a larger and more specialized workforce.
