The São Paulo Government Has Made 20,000 Free Course Slots Available for Women in Information Technology (IT)
20,000 slots for online and free courses are being offered by the state government of São Paulo. The courses are in the field of information technology and are fully aimed at women. The courses can be taken in any of the 645 municipalities of the state. The courses will be through a digital platform, Virtual University of São Paulo – Univesp.

The necessary requirements to apply are: be 16 years old, be literate, and reside in a municipality in the state of São Paulo. The course lasts 80 hours and can be done three months after registration.

Senai will pay for you to take a course: in partnership with Petrobras, the program offers 4,000 free spots in technical courses with a certificate recognized by the MEC and a monthly allowance of up to R$ 800 to train professionals for the Brazilian industry.

Senac and Senai offer courses with scholarships of up to R$ 1,500 in areas such as sales, cashier operator, electrical, welding, CNC lathe, construction, telemarketing, and reception.
If there are more applicants than the total number of available slots, priority will be given to unemployed individuals, those with low income, and those with disabilities. Notifications will be sent to the email address provided during registration. Registrations will be open until September 14 through the Via Rápida website, with the expected start date being on the 14th of this month.
Certificates will be awarded to those who complete the entire course load and achieve an average score of 7.5 on evaluations.
Senac Courses and Secretary of Economic Development
The Secretary of Economic Development, together with Senac, has launched a platform offering 500 course slots also in the IT field. They last from 40 to 200 hours and will be conducted online, with live classes, educational materials, and direct links to a physical Senac unit.
These include: Data Science, Web Development/Front-End, Web Development/Back-End, and Web Development/Full-Stack.
The cities where the courses are offered are: São Paulo (5 units), Araraquara, Bebedouro, Guarulhos, Rio Claro, Itu, Sorocaba, Presidente Prudente, São Vicente, Jundiaí, Osasco, Santos, São José dos Campos, São João da Boa Vista, Sorocaba, and São Carlos. The slots will be preferably allocated to women who already have introductory courses.
