São Paulo Government Offers More Than 70 Thousand Free Music Course Slots. Be Part of This Amazing Musical Education Project

The Government of the State of São Paulo, through the Guri program, is offering more than 70 thousand slots in free music courses. Enrollment is open until March 22 and can be done directly at the 400 teaching centers spread throughout the state.

Opportunity for All Interested

No prior knowledge of music or personal instruments is required to participate in the program. Guri offers regular music initiation courses for children aged 6 to 9 years, and sequential courses for youth ages 10 to 18 who wish to learn how to sing or play a musical instrument in a solid and consistent manner, including violin, viola, cello, double bass, recorder, flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, horn, trombone, tuba, euphonium, percussion, drums, guitar, electric bass, piano, keyboard, accordion, cavaquinho, mandolin, viola caipira, seven-string guitar, tenor guitar, and voice.

Some centers also offer the Musical Initiation course for Adults, aimed at those over 18 years old.

Enrollment and Required Documents

To enroll, simply go to the desired teaching center with a guardian and present the following documents: birth certificate or ID (original and copy); proof of school enrollment and/or school attendance declaration; guardian’s ID (original and copy); one recent 3×4 photo; and proof of address for consultation.
