Learning libras at the Federal Institute brings several benefits:
- Facilitates communication with deaf people, promoting inclusion.
- Curricular enrichment: knowledge of libras is a differential in the job market and in educational contexts.
- Free access with a certificate makes the opportunity more accessible to everyone.
Through these courses, IFRS contributes to enhancing the visibility of sign language as a vector of equity and access.
Content of the Free Libras Courses

Libras: Basic Understanding – Class 2025B

Tips to Make the Most of the Free Courses
- Organization: Establish a weekly schedule to study, even though it is distance learning.
- Constant practice: Use libras in daily life, even with family or friends, to reinforce the signs.
- Support materials: Check if there are videos, readings, and exercises — platforms usually include evaluative activities.
- Clear goals: Since the course has academic value (certificate), plan to complete it by the deadline (01/31/2026).
- Real inclusion: Use the learning to promote accessibility and communication with deaf people — it’s not just about a “course,” but about social impact.
For those who want to learn the sign language libras, the free courses offered by the Federal Institute represent an excellent entry point: free, 100% online, with certification. Registrations are open until the end of 2025.
Whether for teachers or anyone interested, there are options with different workloads and depths. Additionally, the time investment yields direct benefits for inclusion and communication.
Don’t miss the chance to qualify in the free Libras courses offered by the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS).
