Second Generation of the Jeep Renegade Under Development with New STLA-Small Platform and European Design. Discover the Innovations and Expectations for the Compact SUV in Brazil and Europe
The second generation of the compact SUV Jeep Renegade is under development and promises to be more European. The new platform will be one of the major changes, and the model will coexist with the Avenger in Europe.
Despite rumors about the possible discontinuation of the Jeep Renegade in Brazil, replaced by the Avenger, the model will continue to exist. According to the British magazine Autoexpress, the manufacturer has already started work on the second generation of the utility vehicle. This new version will abandon the Small Wide 4×4 platform, used since 2005 and that has undergone numerous updates. The next generation will adopt the STLA-Small architecture, set to debut in 2026, instead of the e-CMP platform used by the Avenger.
Adaptation to Electrification
The platform switch will allow the new Renegade SUV to incorporate more electrified powertrains, in addition to the mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid systems of the current model. The new version is expected to include a 100% electric option, aligning with Stellantis’ electrification goals in Europe. Previous reports indicate that Jeep will take advantage of this update to increase the size of the Renegade, distancing it from the Avenger, which is only 15 centimeters shorter. With the Compass also planning to grow in its next generation, there will be enough space for the Renegade to be enlarged.

Design Focused on Europe
An interesting aspect mentioned by Autoexpress is that the new Renegade will adopt a design focused on Europe. The compact SUV has had good sales in the region, although it has not achieved the same success in Brazil. In the United States, the Renegade was dismissed for not being considered a “real” Jeep and has already had its sales discontinued. This was a tough blow for a car from a brand seen as a North American symbol.

Prospects for Brazil
With the development of the second generation in Europe, the chances of the Renegade continuing in Brazil increase, as the national operation will not have to bear engineering costs. Additionally, if the model grows, it won’t be a problem having both the Avenger and the Renegade in the country, expanding the brand’s product line. Thus, the Jeep Renegade SUV promises a promising future adapted to the new demands of the European and Brazilian markets.
