Vessel UMS Safe Concordia Berths at Enseada Shipyard Dock in Maragogipe, Bahia, Before Heading to the Peregrino Field.
According to Click Oil and Gas reported on August 5 of this month, Prosafe contracted Enseada Shipyard in Bahia, for repairs on the flotel Safe Concordia for six months.
Thus, Enseada Shipyard has just announced that it successfully completed the berthing operation of the vessel at its dock on Tuesday, August 20. The flotel will remain in Bahia for 6 months before fulfilling its contract with the Norwegian Equinor.
Vinicius Campos, Operations Director of Prosafe in Brazil, stated that: “We started the operation at first light and it was performed with 100% success. We navigated through the channel and berthed safely, without the need for intervention from the two tugboats. We chose Enseada Shipyard for its operational capacity and commitment to deadlines, as the vessel will be operating in the Peregrino Field starting January 15, 2020.”

According to the Industrial Manager of Enseada Shipyard, Mario Moura, this was the third maneuver of this nature performed in less than a year. “We conduct these operations with our own shipyard team, which allows us to carry out these activities quickly, safely, and competitively.”
It is worth noting that the berthing of UMS Safe Concordia occurred just a few days after the departure of another vessel, the SS Norbe VI, owned by Ocyan, which headed towards Rio de Janeiro, on August 6, for its final preparations to fulfill a service contract with Petrobras.
