With a Billion-Dollar Investment and a Focus on Technological Innovation, Embraer Promises to Boost Jobs, the Supply Chain, and Brazilian Presence in the Global Military and Commercial Aviation Market.

Embraer recently signed one of the largest international agreements in its history, with an estimated investment of US$ 3 billion and the prospect of generating up to 5,000 jobs in Poland.

The project, expected to last a decade, aims to transform the Eastern European country into a strategic operations hub for the Brazilian manufacturer on the continent, highlighting the production of the C-390 Millennium multi-mission military aircraft.

According to Embraer, the investment package includes actions in manufacturing, maintenance, research, development, and technical training, as well as partnerships with local institutions.

The initiative not only strengthens economic and industrial ties between Brazil and Poland but also reaffirms Embraer’s presence in the competitive European aviation market, especially in the defense sector.

Poland Will Be a Strategic Hub for Embraer in Europe

The decision to expand operations in Poland was confirmed after a high-level visit led by Francisco Gomes Neto, President and CEO of Embraer, accompanied by senior executives from the company.

During the meeting with local authorities and representatives from the aviation sector, the pillars of bilateral collaboration were defined.

Embraer views Polish territory as a key piece for its long-term strategy in Europe, both in the commercial and military sectors.

The country, a NATO and European Union member, offers political stability, a skilled workforce, and a consolidated industrial infrastructure.

Among the key points is the strengthening of collaboration with the Łukasiewicz Aviation Institute (iLOT), focused on the development of new flight technologies, advanced aeronautical materials, and cutting-edge maintenance processes.

KC-390 Millennium: The Protagonist of the Agreement

The production of the KC-390 Millennium military aircraft is at the center of the project, with potential to generate around US$ 1 billion in investments and create up to 600 highly skilled jobs.

The model, designed for logistical missions, troop transport, medical evacuation, and firefighting, has already been acquired by countries such as Portugal, Hungary, the Netherlands, Brazil, Austria, South Korea, and the Czech Republic, consolidating its strategic relevance for NATO operations.

According to Frederico Lemos, CCO of Embraer Defense & Security, Poland could become the main assembly and maintenance center for the KC-390 in Europe, adding value to the military supply chain of the bloc and strengthening its position as a provider of cutting-edge technological solutions.

Expansion of the Polish Supply Chain

Currently, the Polish aerospace industry already contributes to the production of various components used in Embraer aircraft.

Companies in the country supply everything from seats and auxiliary power units to engine parts, with business totaling US$ 30 million just in 2024, generating 1,350 jobs.

With the new expansion plan, Embraer will broaden its network of local suppliers, creating opportunities for more companies to enter strategic projects, such as converting passenger planes into freighters and overhauling landing gear for the E-Jets E2 family.

More Than 4,000 Additional Vacancies at Stake

Beyond the military supply chain, the company is also betting on growth in the commercial sector.

If all fronts of cooperation progress as expected, investments in commercial aviation could exceed US$ 2 billion, creating 4,400 additional jobs in the coming years.

Another highlight is the landing gear overhaul center for commercial jets, which is set to be established in the country. Simultaneously, a hub specialized in converting E190 aircraft for cargo transport will be developed, expanding Embraer’s presence in the growing air logistics market.

Training and capacity-building programs will be essential to prepare the local workforce, ensuring the quality of operations and the sustainability of industrial growth in the aerospace sector.

Alliance with LOT Polish Airlines Remains Strong

During the visit to Poland, the CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, Arjan Meijer, emphasized the importance of the partnership with LOT Polish Airlines, an Embraer customer for decades.

According to Meijer, the E2 family models represent the best solution to modernize LOT’s fleet, offering operational efficiency, lower costs, and greater environmental sustainability—crucial factors at a time when the airline industry seeks to reduce emissions and enhance profitability.

He also highlighted the central role that LOT could play in the new Central Airport (CPK) air hub, currently under development.

The expectation is that CPK will become one of the main air connectivity centers in Eastern Europe, with great growth potential.

Europe Strengthens Commitment to KC-390

With 42% of its supply chain located in the European Union, the KC-390 Millennium stands out as Embraer’s primary military transport aircraft in the region. Its interoperability with NATO systems and robust operational performance have made it a preferred choice for several countries in the bloc.

Slovakia and Sweden have also recently selected the KC-390, consolidating its presence in the European market.

The reinforcement of production in Poland will allow for greater logistical agility, technical support, and local maintenance, further tightening the ties between the armed forces of NATO member countries and the Brazilian manufacturer.

Promising Future on the Horizon

Embraer is convinced that Poland has everything to become a true hub of innovation, technology, and cutting-edge production in the aerospace sector.

With a solid strategic plan, institutional support, and robust investments, the Brazilian company sees the country as a base to expand its presence throughout Europe.

The expectation is that this collaboration will bring not only economic benefits but also significantly contribute to technological advancement, professional training, and Poland’s integration into global value chains in the aerospace segment.

The Embraer-Poland partnership could mark a new era for the aviation industry, connecting Brazilian innovation with global opportunities.

Do you believe that the partnership between Embraer and Poland could transform the country into a new hub for global aviation?
