Italian Brand Announced Investments In New Cars Focused On The Brazilian Automotive Market And Promises To Surprise. Among The Models Being Developed Are The New Fiat Uno, Fiat Pulse, And Fiat Fastback.
The Stellantis development center in Brazil is in full swing with many projects being built at the same time. In addition to the new Jeep Avenger and the latest update of the Renegade, the portal Auto+ has discovered and reported exclusively some news from the Fiat side of the family with the arrival of new models, namely: Fiat Pulse, Fastback, and the return of the Fiat Uno.
New Fiat Cars Are Being Developed In Minas Gerais
It is no secret that the Italian brand is developing a new compact hatch focused on the European market. The car will be the successor to the Panda and is already being nicknamed Fiat Uno, due to its boxy appearance.
For the national automotive market, we will have a direct derivative of this model, but with cost reductions in the project. The project code, however, has been known to the public since last year due to media coverage.

Peugeot publicly acknowledged the errors of the PureTech engine, which caused serious failures in hundreds of thousands of cars, and introduced the new Turbo 100 as a definitive solution, a 1.2 turbo tested for over 3 million kilometers that replaces the faulty belt with a more durable chain.

Automatic cars become ‘cheap’ in Brazil, and models from Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, and Honda appear for R$ 65,000 with up to 120 hp, CVT transmission, 482 liters of trunk space, keyless entry, and six airbags to tackle traffic without a clutch.

Without relying on an outlet, without a cable, and without the gasoline engine driving the wheels: Nissan created the Note e-POWER, a hatchback that always runs on an electric motor while a combustion engine works only as a generator, delivering to Japan a type of “electric without recharging” that Brazil is almost unfamiliar with.
The intention of this new car is not to be an SUV, but exactly the same thing as the current Panda with the second generation Fiat Uno. The F1H project is seen as the successor to the Argo, but in hallways, it’s already being called the Fiat Uno Reborn, because the boxy and friendly look is similar to the model. Since the model is iconic for the brand, it is an opportunity that should not be wasted.

Another novelty that is already being worked on at the Italian brand’s factory in Betim (MG) is the new family of compact SUVs. These are the successors of Fiat Pulse and Fiat Fastback, internally referred to as F2U and F2X, which will no longer be models exclusive to Brazil and will gain international careers. The same will happen with the upcoming Fiat Strada (project XBP).
Possible Configurations Of The New Fiat Pulse And Fiat Fastback
Both the new Fiat Pulse FU2 and the Fiat Fastback FX2, along with the F1H (new Fiat Uno, successor to the Argo) will be developed on the modular CMP platform. This base is shared with the Peugeot 208 and the Citroën C3, and will also serve the Opel Corsa, Lancia Ypsilon, and Alfa Romeo Milano.

For the new Fiat Uno, successor to the Argo, the Italian brand will equip the 1.0 Firefly three-cylinder engine in aspirated and turbo versions, with the latter being semi-hybrid and featuring a CVT transmission. There will also be an intermediate version of the model with a 1.3 Firefly aspirated engine and an option for manual or automatic transmission.
As for the new Fiat Pulse (FU2) and Fiat Fastback (FX2), the brand will equip a 1.0 three-cylinder turbo engine with a semi-hybrid system and a 1.3 four-cylinder turbo flex engine, but with reduced power from the current 184 hp. The Abarth version is being considered, however, with a high likelihood of being sold only with the electric motor.
Fiat Is Leading Sales In The Pickup Truck Market
Putting aside compact cars and SUVs for a moment, as expected, the brand closed the first quarter of this year as the leader in the pickup segment by a large margin.
Despite giving up the first place in the overall ranking for the period to the Volkswagen Polo, the model continues to register remarkable sales figures.
After the Strada, there are vehicles such as the Saveiro and Toro. In the medium pickup segment, the Hilux stands out in leadership, although it is not among the top positions in the overall ranking.
In total, there were 26,577 units sold of the Fiat Strada, more than double that of the Saveiro (12,364), which came in second in the ranking. To give an idea, the numbers surpass those of the first quarter of 2023, with a growth of almost 12%. Closing the podium was the Toro, with 10,219 sales.
