The Federal Institute of São Paulo offers 320 spots in free technical courses in Mechanics, Mechatronics, Automation, Administration, and Information Technology. Registrations are open until May 18th and the exam takes place on June 14th, 2026.

The distribution of the 320 spots at the Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP) in Vale do Paraíba and the surrounding region reflects the industrial and service demands of each municipality. Focusing on sectors such as mechatronics, automation, and administration, the institution aims to fill classes in the afternoon and evening periods.

According to g1, the opportunities for free technical courses are part of a state-wide public notice that offers almost two thousand spots, aiming to prepare qualified labor for the regional job market starting in August 2026.

Interested candidates must choose the campus at the time of registration, as the location defines the career options. In São José dos Campos, the focus is on the industrial sector, while on the coast, the emphasis is on management and technology.

Although IFSP’s free technical courses do not charge tuition, there is a R$ 30 registration fee to cover the exam application. However, the Federal Institute maintains a policy of full exemption for low-income candidates.

To avoid paying the fee, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Have a monthly family income of up to R$ 2,431.50 per person.

Have completed all of Elementary School in a public school or as a full scholarship student in a private school.

In addition to the exemption, the selection process reserves quotas for those who studied in public schools, as well as self-declaration criteria for Black, Brown, Indigenous, Quilombola people, and people with disabilities (PwD).

To secure a spot, a school transcript is not enough; it is necessary to take an objective exam. The exam is scheduled for June 14th, 2026, and will last three hours.

The assessment consists of 30 questions, 15 in Portuguese and 15 in Mathematics. Registrations remain open until May 18th and can be made by candidates of any age.

The public notice allows registration in two modalities: concomitant (for those still attending high school) and subsequent (for those who have already completed their studies). Therefore, the selection covers everyone from young people seeking their first contact with a profession to adults who desire a new technical specialization.
