Meet the Getúlio Vargas Foundation
Founded in December 1944, the Getúlio Vargas Foundation initially aimed to train qualified professionals for public and private sector management in Brazil. At that time, the country was beginning to build the foundations for the development that would consolidate in the following years.
FGV broadened its focus and, in addition to administration, began to encompass economic and social sciences. Therefore, the institution distinguished itself in the fields of information and research, becoming a synonym for excellence and quality. Thus, pioneeringly, FGV inaugurated, in Brazil, the undergraduate and graduate stricto sensu programs in private and public administration, as well as courses in economics, accounting, psychology, and education. In this way, FGV also significantly contributed to the development of the Brazilian economy by introducing important economic indicators.
