Bravo Motor Company’s Gigafactory in Minas Gerais Receives US$ 4 Billion Investment
According to what has been anticipated, this is a project that will give rise to the first “gigafactory” of electric cars in Latin America. The complex, located in Nova Lima, Minas Gerais, will have an investment of US$ 4 billion, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte (MG), and will be responsible for the production of electric cars, batteries, and other components for electric mobility.
The agreement with Bravo Motor Company was announced by Rockwell Automation through an official statement. Rockwell is a multinational company specialized in industrial processes, with experience in creating production lines and factories worldwide.

Bravo Motor Company’s Electric Car Gigafactory Will Be Ready by 2024
According to Bravo Motor Company’s CEO, Eduardo Javier Munoz, the company is very pleased to implement a multinational company like Rockwell Automation in its project, considering that the company has extensive experience in large-scale electric battery production.
The gigafactory in Minas Gerais is expected to produce around 22,790 electric cars per year starting in 2024, with capacity expansion by 2029, when the project will be fully completed, which will allow for the generation of approximately 14,000 direct and indirect jobs.
Additionally, the same factory will produce 43,750 lithium battery kits per year. Following the signing of the letter of intent last year, this new official announcement from Rockwell adds weight to the project that could finally put the country on the map of electric mobility globally.
Brazil May Enter the Global Lithium Market
After much anticipation, Brazil may finally enter the global lithium market for electric car batteries. According to reports, mining company Sigma Lithium is expected to emerge as one of the largest global producers of the metal.
The company stated that the results of its drilling program in Minas Gerais confirm that the miner will position itself as one of the world’s largest lithium producers; this project marks the country’s entry into the global lithium market for batteries.
According to an official statement from the company, the project named Grota do Cirilo is expected to come online at the beginning of next year at an annual rate of 37,000 tons of lithium carbonate, with that rate increasing to around 72,000 tons per year starting in 2024. The company is a mining firm based in Vancouver, Canada, controlled by the Brazilian private equity fund A10 Investimentos.
