Volkswagen Gol Leads Market Despite Decline; Honda HR-V Surprises with Growth
The used vehicle market in Brazil recorded decline in sales in March 2025. In total, 1,202,569 units were sold, representing a decline of 6.1% compared to February. The reduction was observed both among passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, reflecting a scenario of tighter credit and lower consumer appetite, according to the site Car.Blog.
Even in the face of deceleration, the Volkswagen Gol maintained absolute leadership, with 54,792 units sold in the month. Although it experienced a decline of 6.3% compared to the previous month, the model remains the most sought-after used car by Brazilians — a historical trend in the used sector.
The ranking of the ten most sold vehicles continues to be dominated by compact models with low maintenance costs, such as Fiat Palio, Uno, Onix, and HB20. The highlight of the month was the Honda HR-V, which defied market trends and showed a slight growth of 0.5%, reaching 23rd place with 8,763 units.
