Ranking of the best-selling compact sedans in June 2026 has Onix Plus in the lead, HB20S in second, and Virtus just 33 units behind.
The competition among the best-selling compact sedans gained a new leader in June 2026. With 3,587 vehicles registered, the Chevrolet Onix Plus reclaimed the top position in the category, surpassing the Hyundai HB20S, the winner of the previous survey. The data was released by K.Lume Consultoria.
Although Chevrolet returned to the top, the month’s results also revealed a tight competition just below. The HB20S ended June with 3,239 units, while the Volkswagen Virtus recorded 3,206. The difference between the two models was only 33 cars.
Fiat Cronos, Honda City, and Nissan Versa completed the list of the six evaluated cars. Among them, the Versa showed the most significant progress compared to May, while the HB20S suffered the largest monthly reduction.

Best-selling compact sedans have a tight race at the top
The Onix Plus took the lead with an advantage of 348 units over the HB20S. The distance to the third place was also small: only 381 registrations separated the Chevrolet from the Volkswagen Virtus.
The result shows that the first position was not accompanied by a wide margin over competitors. On the contrary, three models ended June with over 3,000 units:
- Chevrolet Onix Plus: 3,587 registrations;
- Hyundai HB20S: 3,239 registrations;
- Volkswagen Virtus: 3,206 registrations.
The scenario was different from what was observed in May, when the HB20S reached 5,205 units and led the category. In June, Hyundai lost volume and fell to second place. Even with the reduction of the main competitor, the Onix Plus regained the lead with a lower quantity than the winner of the previous month.
Cronos and City remain among the top five
The fourth position was secured by the Fiat Cronos, with 2,686 registrations. The model showed a slight decline compared to May but continued to be among the main representatives of the category. Following was the Honda City, with 1,596 units. The result was superior to the 1,502 vehicles recorded in the previous survey and allowed the Japanese sedan to maintain the fifth position.
Between the Cronos and the City, the difference reached 1,090 cars. The number shows a wider separation between the group of the top four and the models positioned at the end of the list. The Nissan Versa remained in sixth position but recorded significant progress. The model advanced from 357 registrations in May to 635 units in June.
With this performance, the Versa came close to doubling the monthly volume. Even so, it maintained a considerable distance from the Honda City, which sold 961 more units in the period. The growth of the Nissan was not enough to change its position, but it indicated a reaction within the group of best-selling compact sedans analyzed by K.Lume Consultoria.

Discover the Onix Plus 2027
In addition to leading the June ranking, the Onix Plus 2027 is presented in different configurations, including options with naturally aspirated engines, turbo, and a version powered exclusively by ethanol. The trunk offers 500 liters of capacity. The rear seats can be folded down, allowing for greater flexibility to transport everyday items or luggage during leisure moments.
In terms of safety, all versions come with six airbags and standard stability control. Among the available features are also:
- blind spot alert to assist in lane changes;
- tire pressure monitoring;
- rearview camera;
- parking sensors, depending on the configuration;
- automatic parking assistant in the Premier version.
The line also offers equipment such as a proximity sensor key, keyless start, Chevrolet MyLink multimedia center, and a digital instrument panel.
Versions and prices of the Chevrolet Onix Plus 2027
The 1.0 MT configuration starts at R$ 110,090. It uses a 1.0 aspirated engine combined with a six-speed manual transmission.
Among the main items are:
- six airbags;
- key with proximity sensor;
- Chevrolet MyLink center with 8-inch touchscreen;
- rearview camera.
Turbo MT and Turbo AT — starting at R$ 108,990
The turbo versions can be equipped with a manual or automatic six-speed transmission. The list includes six airbags, rearview camera, key proximity sensor, and keyless start.
Turbo AT ECO — starting at R$ 103,990
The ECO configuration uses an engine powered exclusively by ethanol and a six-speed automatic transmission.
The informed package includes:
- six airbags;
- Easy Entry, with key proximity sensor;
- Easy Start, for keyless start;
- rearview camera.
LTZ Turbo AT — starting at R$ 120,190
The LTZ version adds visual, technological, and comfort items. It features a turbo engine, Full LED front headlights, and integrated daytime running lights.
It also offers:
- 8-inch digital instrument panel;
- Chevrolet MyLink with 11-inch touchscreen;
- seats with hybrid premium material and fabric upholstery;
- rear parking sensors;
- high-definition rearview camera;
- 16-inch alloy wheels.
Premier Turbo AT — starting from R$ 125,290
At the top of the line is the Premier Turbo AT version. In addition to the turbo engine, it includes Full LED headlights, an 8-inch digital panel, and a multimedia center with an 11-inch screen. The configuration also features seats with premium upholstery in Jet Black and Adriatic Gray tones, automatic digital air conditioning, and automatic parking assistant.
Onix Plus Leadership Opens New Competition for the Coming Months
The result in June reorganized the top positions in the category. The Onix Plus returned to the lead, but HB20S and Virtus remained close, leaving the competition open for the coming months. Hyundai still held the second place even after losing volume, while Volkswagen came closer with monthly growth.
Further down, the Honda City advanced moderately, and the Nissan Versa nearly doubled its registrations. With only 381 units separating the top three, the ranking of the best-selling compact sedans ended June 2026 marked by balance and the comeback of the Chevrolet Onix Plus.
