The engine of the Honda CB500 Hornet is a parallel twin of 471 cm³, which can deliver 50.2 hp of power and 4.5 kgfm of torque. This engine is developed to offer predictable and smooth power delivery, with a flat torque curve that allows the rider to explore the rev range with confidence. The liquid cooling of the model provides better temperature control even under intense use conditions, while the average consumption in the city is 28 km/L.

The handling of the Honda CB500 Hornet is designed to balance control and comfort. The Showa SFF-BP front suspension provides the rider with precise feedback from the pavement, while the rear monoshock suspension with preload adjustment ensures stability on different types of terrain.
