The National Institute of Educational Studies and Research (Inep) announced, on June 13, 2025, the complete notice for the National Teacher Exam (PND).

The exam, scheduled for October, will evaluate candidates interested in teaching positions in the public school systems across the country.

Below, understand how the stages work, who can participate, the registration dates, the criteria for exemption, and the application rules.

Registrations, Fee, and Exemption

Both undergraduate students and individuals interested in pursuing a teaching career can register.

The organization of the process will open registrations from July 14 to July 25.

The fee has been set at R$ 85, and candidates will be able to pay it until July 31.

Candidates can make the payment via Pix, credit card, or bank debit.

Nevertheless, the organizers consider specific cases for fee exemption.

The organization guarantees the exemption for graduates registered for Enade 2025.

Families with an income of up to R$ 759 per person also automatically receive this right.

Structure and Application of the Exam

The organization will administer the PND on October 26, according to the schedule.

The team will begin administering the exams at 1:30 PM and will end at 7 PM.

The responsible parties will open the gates at 12 PM and close them at 1 PM, Brasília time.

Candidates will take the exam for a total duration of 5 hours and 30 minutes.

The organization will divide the exam into two mandatory and eliminatory blocks.

The first block will cover general education with 30 objective questions and one essay question.

The evaluators will analyze the cohesion, argumentation, and grammar in the essay question.

The second block will present a specific component with 50 multiple-choice questions.

The committee will include a case study related to the chosen licensed area.

Nonetheless, it is worth noting that the PND follows the model of the Enade for Licensures.

Since 2024, Enade evaluates graduates to ensure national standardization.

Adoption by States and Municipalities

State and municipal networks select candidates in public competitions using the PND within their own territories.
The public networks voluntarily adhered to the PND and linked to the platform by June 15. Additionally, the federative entities registered their notices in the official PND system by June 25.
Thus, these networks can apply the PND as a single stage or, if they prefer, as a complementary stage of the selection processes.
Finally, if they wish, they can also add practical assessment or title examination as additional criteria.

Disclosures and Validity of Results

Subsequently, the answer key for the essay part will be released on November 11.
Additionally, the final result of the PND will be published on December 10.

The bodies will therefore consider the results valid for three consecutive years, as determined by the federal ordinance and decree, from the date of disclosure.

Thus, the results may eventually be used in different teaching selections conducted during this period, as long as within the stipulated validity.
