“Phase II of Lufeng Oil Fields Begins Production, South China Sea, 14 Wells, 22,600 Barrels/Day, Operator.”

CNOOC announced that production has begun in the Phase II Development Project of the Lufeng Oil Fields.

The project is located in the eastern part of the South China Sea, with an average water depth of about 136 meters. The complex includes the Lufeng 8-1 oil field, the Lufeng 9-2 oil field, and the Lufeng 14-8 oil field.

A new drilling platform has been built to support the extraction of resources from Lufeng Oil and a total of 14 development wells are scheduled to come online, of which 13 will be production wells and one well will be dedicated to water injection.
