Registrations Are Open for the Public Competition of the Ministry of the Environment (MMA). There Are Almost 100 Positions Offered for Professionals with Higher Education.
The Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MMA) announced the opening of a new public competition, providing an opportunity for 98 professionals to join the agency as Environmental Analysts. The public notice 01/2023, published in the Official Gazette of the Union on October 25, establishes the rules for the competition, including the formation of a reserve list at the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio). The positions in this contest are of great interest to those who wish to be part of an important agency dedicated to the preservation of the environment.
What Is the Registration Period for the MMA Competition?
Registration for the public competition of the MMA began last Friday, November 3, and will continue until November 22.
The exams, in turn, are scheduled for January 21, 2024.

The starting salary for Environmental Analysts will be R$ 9,475.72, with the possibility of receiving performance and qualification bonuses.

For those seeking to enhance their knowledge, the qualification bonus will be available in the following amounts: R$ 385.70 for Specialization, R$ 769.10 for Master’s, and R$ 1,157.58 for Doctorate.
What Are the Requirements to Participate in the MMA Public Competition?
Candidates must fulfill a workload of 40 hours per week, with the chance to participate in the agency’s management and performance program, following its internal rules.
In addition, the competition reserves 5% of the positions for people with disabilities and 20% for Black candidates, promoting diversity and inclusion.
How to Register
Registration for the competition can be done online, through the website of the Brazilian Center for Research in Evaluation and Selection and Promotion of Events (Cebraspe) at the electronic address.
The period for online registration will be from 10:00 AM on November 3 until 6:00 PM on November 22, 2023.
To finalize the registration, it is necessary to pay a fee of R$ 110.00.
Know the Evaluation Stages
The MMA public competition will consist of two evaluation stages.
The first consists of objective tests, which are eliminatory and classificatory, with 100 questions covering basic and specific knowledge.
The second stage is the essay test, also eliminatory and classificatory.
What to Study for the MMA Competition?
The objective tests will cover topics such as Portuguese language, English language, public management concepts, administrative law, constitutional law, environmental legislation and norms, public integrity, and current affairs (only for the essay test).
In specific knowledge, candidates will need to demonstrate their knowledge in areas such as biodiversity, forests and animal rights, climate change, environmental quality, bioeconomy, and environmental management.
Essay Test
The essay test will be worth 30 points and will consist of writing a discursive text, limited to 30 lines, on topics related to current affairs.
The grading of the essay test will take into account the criteria for broad competition, candidates with disabilities, and Black candidates.
When and Where Will the Tests Be Held?
The tests will be held on January 21, 2024, in the capitals of the 26 states of the Federation and in the Federal District.
The confirmation of the date and information about the location, time, and room for the tests will be published through a notice on January 9.
The provisional answers will be available from 7:00 PM on January 23, and the results will be announced on February 20, 2024.
Validity of the MMA Public Competition
The MMA public competition (Ministry of the Environment) will be valid for 1 year for the appointment of the approved candidates. However, it may be extended for an equal period.
