The Federal Institute of Mato Grosso (IFMT) is accepting applications for over 800 spots in free technical and higher education courses. The application period for each level of free courses varies. In this article, we have outlined the main information about the free courses at the Federal Institute, from technical to higher education, so you can apply and start studying.
Free Technical Courses at the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso available
The application period for the free technical courses goes until March 25 of this year. There are a total of 160 spots distributed among the campuses of Cuiabá Bela Vista and Várzea Grande, as stated in the notice 02/2024. At the campuses of the Federal Institute of Cuiabá Bela Vista, you can choose between the free technical courses in Environmental Management (35 spots) or Chemistry (35 spots).
At the Várzea Grande campus, the spots for free technical and higher education courses are for the Civil Construction Drawing (30), Logistics (30), and Building Construction (30) courses. It is worth mentioning that a registration fee of R$ 50 is required. Until March 8, it is possible to request an exemption from the registration fee through the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso’s website.

Subsequent Technical Courses
Applications for the free subsequent-level courses at the Federal Institute are open until April 1, 2024. In total, there are 175 spots distributed among the campuses of Cáceres – Prof. Olegário Baldo, Cuiabá – Cel. Octayde Jorge da Silva, and São Vicente, according to notice 03/2024.
At the Cuiabá Octayde campus, the spots are for technical courses in Surveying (25), Building Construction (25), Electronics (25), and Electrotechnics (25). At the Cáceres campus, the opportunities are for the technical course in Agriculture (40 spots), and at the São Vicente campus, the technical course in Animal Science has 35 spots open.
The selection process for the free technical and higher education courses will be based on the curricular analysis (of the school transcript) of the 1st and 2nd years of high school, completed regularly or via certification from the Provão, through the National Examination for Certification of Youth and Adult Competencies (ENCCEJA).
To apply for the free courses at the Federal Institute, the candidate must fill out the application form, attach the high school transcript, and the documents related to quotas if they are a quota student. If opting for general competition, only the high school transcript should be submitted. Candidates must complete the socioeconomic questionnaire on the IFMT website, print the bank slip, and pay the fee of R$ 50.
Undergraduate Courses
Applications for this selection process end on April 4 of this year. In total, there are 500 spots in free technical and higher education courses distributed among the campuses: Alta Floresta, Campo Novo do Parecis, Cuiabá, Bela Vista, Cuiabá Cel. Octayde Jorge da Silva, and Várzea Grande. At the Cáceres campus, there are 40 opportunities for the technical course in Agriculture. And at the São Vicente campus, 35 for the technical course in Animal Science.
COMPLETE INFORMATION FOR THE THREE NOTICES
The Octayde campus offers spots for six bachelor’s courses: Civil Engineering (40 spots), Computer Engineering (40), Electrical Engineering (35), Executive Secretariat (35), Control and Automation Engineering (35), and Tourism (40).
The IFMT Várzea Grande also has spots for a degree in Public Management (35). Alta Floresta has 35 spots for a degree in Human Resource Management. In Campo Novo do Parecis, there are 35 spots for a degree in Agronomy. The candidate must apply for the free courses at the Federal Institute by indicating the year of enrollment in ENEM 2011 or later (2011 to 2023) with which they wish to compete. No registration fee will be charged.
