The Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Minas Gerais (IFMG), Arcos Campus, announced the opening of registrations for the Postgraduate Course in Teaching, a free specialization offered entirely in a distance learning (EAD) format. These free EAD specialization courses have 100 open spots, with 50 dedicated to basic education and 50 dedicated to inclusive education.

It is worth mentioning that the EAD specialization at the Federal Institute is conducted remotely, and no in-person meetings are scheduled. However, participants must conduct an in-person evaluation, which can be done at the school where the student will develop their field research.
The free EAD specialization courses at the Federal Institute have been developed to train and prepare graduates for improving their professional practice within the classroom, as well as to continue their studies at other levels of postgraduate education, such as doctoral and master’s programs.
How to Participate in the Free Specialization Courses at IFMG?
Registration for the EAD specialization at the Federal Institute is the sole responsibility of the candidate, and registrations outside the deadline specified in the Announcement will not be accepted.
Registrations are also free and must be completed online. For candidate classification purposes, the order of registration will be used, as provided in the Regulations for Lato Sensu Postgraduate Courses at IFMG.
Those approved for the free specialization courses at IFMG must send the Academic Secretariat the digitized copies of CPF, RG, 1 photo 3×4, updated proof of address, undergraduate diploma, undergraduate academic transcript, simple copy of the reservist certificate only for male candidates in PDF format. In total, the free specialization consists of 360 hours of workload distributed across subjects such as:
- Teaching and Learning Methodologies (mandatory) 40h;
- Inclusive and Special Education (mandatory) 40h;
- Learning Theories (mandatory) 40h;
- 4th Specific Discipline (according to emphasis) 40h;
- 3rd Specific Discipline (according to emphasis) 40h;
- 2nd Specific Discipline (according to emphasis) 40h;
- Thematic Seminars (mandatory) 40h;
- 1st Specific Discipline (according to emphasis) 40h;
- Course Conclusion Work (mandatory) 40h.
