The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Pernambuco-IFPE launched Notice No. 35/2024, offering 150 spots for the specialization course “Science is 10!”. This distance learning course is intended for teachers and other professionals in basic education who wish to enhance their teaching in Science. With a focus on continuing education and specialization, this opportunity aims to improve teaching practices and stimulate reflection on education in the school environment.
The specialization course “Science is 10!” has the main objective of encouraging teachers to reflect on their pedagogical practice, addressing different theories and methodologies for teaching Science in Basic Education. With a workload of 18 months, the course will be conducted in EAD format, complemented by bi-weekly in-person meetings at selected centers. Among the activities, students participate in classes, forums, seminars, and assessments, promoting a comprehensive training to strengthen their teaching skills.

The Federal Institute-IFPE offers 150 online spots for the free course distributed among five centers: Carpina, Gravatá, Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Sertânia, and Surubim, each with 30 spots. The distribution includes broad competition and affirmative actions, reserving spots for self-declared black, brown, indigenous, quilombola, and people with disabilities (PwD). This division ensures an inclusive opportunity for professionals from different contexts and needs.

Selection Process and Reservations of Spots
The selection process is based on the candidates’ curricular analysis, considering academic background and professional experience. The reserved spots include quotas for black, brown, indigenous, quilombola, and PwD candidates, who need to prove their conditions through reports and self-declarations attached at the time of registration. Candidates will compete simultaneously for broad competition spots and reserved spots, according to their final classification.
Requirements for Registration
To participate, it is necessary to have a degree and, preferably, work in basic education. Candidates must attach documents such as a graduation diploma, ID, CPF, and proof of work in the educational area. Those who qualify for reserved spots must also provide supporting documents, such as self-declarations and reports. Additionally, the payment of the registration fee of R$ 50.00 is mandatory, except for those who request exemption based on socioeconomic criteria.
