Brazil is set to receive 11 new shopping centers throughout 2026, according to data released by the Brazilian Association of Shopping Centers (Abrasce).

The entity also reports that the country has 658 shopping centers in operation, distributed across 253 cities, and that the sector surpassed the mark of R$ 200 billion in revenue in 2025.

According to Abrasce, shopping center sales totaled R$ 200.9 billion in 2025, a growth of 1.2% compared to 2024.

The association also points out that more than half of the projects are outside the capitals, in interior municipalities and metropolitan areas.

New Shopping Centers in 2026: Planned Cities and States

In the list of inaugurations released by Abrasce, six of the 11 projects are in the Southeast.

Among them are Praça Pitiguari, in Atibaia (SP), and Boulevard Marília Shopping, in Marília (SP).

In Minas Gerais, the schedule includes three openings: Shopping Cidade da Serra, in Lavras; Espaço 356, in Belo Horizonte; and NV Boulevard, in Uberlândia.

In Rio de Janeiro, the entity’s report highlights Plaza Santa Cruz, in the capital.

In the Northeast, the survey cites Shopping Praia Sul, in Aracaju (SE), and Centrosul Shopping, in Lagarto (SE).

The list also includes Partage Brasília, in Brasília (DF), Shopping Parque Oeste, in Luís Eduardo Magalhães (BA), and Norte Paraná Prime Outlet, in Londrina (PR).

ABL and Inauguration Calendar, According to Abrasce

Abrasce publishes, on the inauguration page, information such as gross leasable area (ABL) and the estimated month of opening for each project.

In this data, Shopping Praia Sul, in Aracaju, appears with 32,000 m² of ABL and is expected to open in March.

Partage Brasília, in the Federal District, lists 37,742 m² and is scheduled for opening in April.

In the same month, Centrosul Shopping, in Lagarto, is noted with 23,345 m².

Other openings are scheduled throughout the year.

According to Abrasce, NV Boulevard, in Uberlândia, appears with 12,000 m² and is expected to open in the first half of the year.

When summing the reported ABLs, the total reaches 193,184 m².

The entity emphasizes that the announced dates are estimates and may change, depending on the progress of construction and stages such as licenses and inspections.

Therefore, the calendar is likely to be adjusted throughout the year.

Shopping Center Sector in Brazil: 2025 Numbers

The sector numbers presented by Abrasce show a market with a strong national presence.

In addition to the revenue of R$ 200.9 billion in 2025, the association counts 124,791 stores in the total number of shopping centers in operation.

Another indicator highlighted by the entity is the monthly foot traffic.

According to Abrasce, shopping centers record more than 471 million visits per month, a figure used by the sector to gauge consumer circulation in these spaces.

Revenue by Region and Presence Outside Capitals

In the regional breakdown, Abrasce reports that the Southeast accounts for 57% of the sector’s revenue.

In another measure, the entity points out that the Northeast has the highest average annual revenue per shopping center, estimated at R$ 350.4 million, above the national average of R$ 305.3 million.

The association also records that more than half of the Brazilian shopping centers are located outside the capitals.

This data is presented as part of the sector mapping and appears alongside information about expansion in interior cities and regional hubs.

Revenue Projection for 2026 and Undisclosed Total Investment

For 2026, Abrasce indicates a projection of 1.4% growth in revenue for the sector, according to information released in materials and reports based on the Brazilian Shopping Centers Census 2025–2026.

The forecast is presented in parallel to the schedule of inaugurations planned for the year.

The public data consulted from Abrasce, including the list of inaugurations and the general numbers of the sector, do not explicitly provide a consolidated total investment value for these 11 projects.

Without this detailing, it is not possible to attribute a single amount to the set of projects based solely on the listing.

With inaugurations planned in capitals and interior municipalities, which cities will first feel the effects of the arrival of new shopping centers in 2026?
