- Change of Category: to D (passenger transport vehicles) or E (large vehicles, such as trucks and trailers).
Selection Criteria
Although the specific criteria for 2025 have yet to be released, based on previous editions, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Be of legal age (at least 18 years old).
- Know how to read and write.
- Have a CPF and Identity Card or equivalent.
- Prove residency in the State of Espírito Santo.
- Not be legally impeded from holding a CNH.
- Be registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government.
- Have a family income of up to two minimum wages.
- Not have a disability that prevents obtaining the CNH.
Additionally, the program reserves 5% of the spots for people with disabilities and 13% for ex-offenders and released individuals from the prison system and their families.
Application Process
Applications will be exclusively conducted through the official Detran-ES website, on dates to be announced in the official notice.
After the application period, the final list of selected candidates will be published on the same website.
Selected candidates will have specific deadlines to approach the driving school, complete biometrics, and finalize the necessary exams. It is important to pay attention to these deadlines to avoid losing the spot.
Benefits Offered
The program covers all stages of the licensing process, including:
- Biometric capture.
- Psychological exams.
- Toxicological exam.
- Theoretical and practical classes.
- Up to three attempts to pass the theoretical and practical tests.
- Two extra classes in case of failure in the practical exam.
However, the program does not cover the fee for missing the tests; in the case of absence, the candidate will have to bear this cost.

- School Transport Driver.
- Public Transport Driver.
- Hazardous Materials Transport Driver.
- Emergency Vehicle Driver.
