Jetour’s plug-in hybrid pickup bets on extreme power, 800V architecture, and dimensions close to full-size to compete among high-performance electrified utility vehicles and off-road use.
Registered in documents from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Jetour F700 PHEV emerges as the new plug-in hybrid bet from the Chery Group with unusual numbers for the segment, including 1,631 hp, four electric motors, and a weight exceeding 3 tons.
Part of the premium Zongheng line, created for vehicles with off-road and high-performance proposals, the pickup expands Jetour’s strategy in a segment aimed at large electrified utility vehicles with high mechanical capacity.
Besides the extreme power, the project draws attention with its large dimensions, as the F700 is 5.49 meters long and has a 3.35-meter wheelbase, surpassing the Toyota Hilux and approaching the size found in larger models sold globally.

Jetour F700 PHEV bets on four electric motors
Under the body, the mechanical configuration combines a 2.0 turbo gasoline engine with four independent electric motors, installed individually on each wheel to allow separate torque distribution according to traction conditions.
In practice, this system favors control on uneven terrains and improves stability in curves, as the electronic management can correct the pickup’s trajectory and adjust power delivery in real-time.

When acting alone, the 2.0 turbo engine delivers 210 hp and 34.7 kgfm, while the two-speed DHT transmission was developed to couple the combustion engine only in the most efficient ranges.
As batteries, additional motors, and structural reinforcements significantly increase the mass in large plug-in hybrids, the declared power of 1,631 hp also serves to compensate for the high weight of the structure.
At the same time, the electric set favors immediate responses in starts and recoveries, as well as increasing traction capacity on low-grip surfaces or off-road situations.
Ultra-fast recharge and declared consumption draw attention
Another technical highlight of the F700 PHEV is the 800V electrical architecture, a solution adopted to reduce charging time when the pickup is connected to chargers compatible with higher power.
According to information released for the Chinese market, the LFP battery supplied by CATL can recover a charge from 20% to 80% in approximately 10 minutes, a time significantly shorter than observed in many current plug-in hybrids.
Also noteworthy is the official declared consumption of 71.9 km/l, measured according to the Chinese test cycle, a methodology that considers specific usage conditions and strong participation of the electric mode in the vehicle’s operation.
Even so, this type of number can vary greatly depending on the driving routine, the level of charge available in the battery, and the frequency of using the combustion engine during longer journeys.

In urban commutes and short trips, plug-in hybrids tend to operate more in electric mode, while long journeys increase the participation of the gasoline set and significantly alter consumption rates.
The declared thermal efficiency of the turbo engine reaches 45.5%, a high percentage for combustion engines, indicating greater energy utilization within the hybrid system developed by the Chinese manufacturer.
Dimensions place the pickup close to full-size
In addition to the extended length, the pickup is 2.05 meters wide and 1.98 meters high, measurements that reinforce the robust proposal and bring the F700 closer to larger utility vehicles aimed at heavy use.
The wide tires, with 27.5 centimeters of contact with the ground, complement the off-road-oriented look and help expand the grip area on low-traction terrains or uneven surfaces.
Although it is often compared to the Toyota Hilux in size, the new Jetour occupies an intermediate range between traditional medium pickups and full-size models, a category where the Ram 1500 operates in some markets.
Inside, there will be versions with five seats in a 2+3 arrangement and also a configuration with four individual seats, an alternative that reinforces the more sophisticated proposal of the premium Zongheng line.
In addition to the F700, the family created by Jetour also includes the G700 and G900 SUVs, consolidating the Chinese brand’s strategy in large, electrified vehicles with a strong appeal for off-road use.
Sale in Brazil still depends on approval

Although registration with the Chinese regulatory body represents an important step before the start of local sales, the documentation does not yet confirm the immediate launch of the Jetour F700 PHEV in other international markets.
In China, the expectation is that sales will begin in the coming months, a move that should position the pickup as one of the main electrified projects of the brand’s premium division.
So far, there is no official confirmation about the model’s arrival in Brazil, although the growth of Chinese manufacturers in the hybrid and electric segment keeps the possibility open.
If imported in the future, the F700 will need to undergo homologation and adaptation to Brazilian requirements, especially because of the reported weight of 3,009 kg, a high number for the segment’s standards.
Depending on the configuration homologated locally, the total gross weight might even require a different classification for licensing, a topic that would depend on the technical specifications approved for the Brazilian market.
Within Jetour’s global strategy, the F700 PHEV appears as a technological showcase focused on extreme performance, advanced electrification, and dimensions larger than those normally found among medium-sized pickups currently sold.
