The funds for the project were guaranteed by councilman Maxwell Vaz with the approval of the bill in the Budget Guidelines Law (LDO).
The road is essential for the implementation of Tepor and as the councilman stated, “This is a very important piece of legislation. I hope that the head of the executive takes care with the amendments we are approving and sending. So that they are absorbed in the LOA (Annual Budget Law). Santa Teresa is an important traffic goal for the development of the municipality,” he explained.

Project Faced Risks
The Tepor faced licensing issues when an environmental organization from “São Paulo” went to court to prevent the installation of the Port in Macaé, and public hearings and environmental deliberations were necessary to make the establishment of the project in the city viable.
Between the second and third semesters of 2018, a non-governmental organization named Ama Brasil managed to obtain a favorable opinion for the suspension of Tepor’s construction license.
Macaé won the legal battle that was delaying the construction and implementation of Tepor (Port Terminal) on August 28, which even required the intervention of the Governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Wilson Witzel.
