PROFHISTÓRIA: Improvement for History Teachers
Coordinated by UFRJ, the Professional Master’s in History Teaching (PROFHISTÓRIA) opened 677 openings for 2026, being 638 through unified national exam and 39 through special selection.
The course is in-person and prioritizes History teachers in the public network.
The application period goes until November 13, 2025, with a fee of R$ 150.
The selection includes objective and essay questions that are eliminatory and classificatory, along with criteria specified in the notice.
The research lines include Historical Knowledge in the School Space, Languages, Media, and Narratives, and Heritage, Memory, and Identities.

PROFARTES: Qualification in Visual Arts, Dance, Music, and Theater
The Professional Master’s in Arts (PROFARTES), coordinated by UFU, offers 317 openings for Basic Education Art teachers.
The structure combines in-person activities and distance components, with a duration of 24 months.
Applications occur from October 1 to 30, 2025.
The selection process has two eliminatory stages: analysis of portfolio and research project and oral examination.
The program focuses on the concentration area of Arts Education, with research lines in teaching processes, learning and creation in arts and theoretical-methodological approaches to teaching practices.
PROFMAT: Strengthening Fundamentals for Mathematics Teachers
The Professional Master’s in Mathematics (PROFMAT) is coordinated by the Brazilian Society of Mathematics (SBM) and recognized by CAPES.
For 2026, the network offers 1,797 openings in associated institutions throughout the country.
The course is in-person and aimed at Mathematics teachers in Basic Education, in both public or private networks, as long as they meet the notice requirements.
The application deadline has been extended until 5 PM on October 8, 2025, with a fee of R$ 90.
The National Access Exam will be held on November 1, 2025, from 2 PM to 5 PM (Brasilia time), with 30 multiple-choice questions.
At the time of application, candidates must choose the associated institution where they wish to take the exam and pursue the master’s program, observing local enrollment rules and any available scholarships.
