APS Invested R$ 3 Million in Modernizing the Data and Surveillance Network in the Alemoa Area at the Port of Santos, Enhancing Security and Operational Efficiency.
According to a statement from July 28, the Port Authority of Santos (APS) completed in 2025 an investment exceeding R$ 3 million in modernizing the data and surveillance network in the Alemoa area, on the right bank of the Port of Santos. This region, considered at risk due to handling flammable liquid bulk, has replaced radio communication with about 3 km of fiber optics and increased the number of monitoring cameras from 12 to 32.
Strategic Investment for Greater Security and Efficiency at the Port of Santos
The new infrastructure, implemented by APS, provides greater stability and security in real-time data transmission, thanks to fiber optics.
The installed cameras are certified for risk areas, explosion-resistant, and feature high-resolution technology.

China is designing a container ship with a thorium nuclear reactor that will operate for 40 years without refueling, and the 25,000-container giant from Jiangnan Shipyard will cross oceans without emitting carbon in an industry that burns 300 million tons of fuel per year.
These improvements expand the coverage of surveillance, a crucial factor for security in Alemoa, one of the most sensitive zones of the Port of Santos.
Modernization Benefits Various Operational Areas
The project benefits essential sectors such as the Port Guard, Occupational Safety, Inspection, Berthing, and Environment, reinforcing APS’s commitment to a more competitive and safer port.
According to Anderson Pomini, president of APS, “Each completed project reinforces our commitment to a future port that is more competitive, secure, and aligned with global trade demands.”
Robust Investments for the Port of Santos
In addition to this modernization in Alemoa, APS made investments of approximately R$ 18 million in 2025 in technology projects. Among them are the implementation of a more efficient access control system, increased connectivity in port areas, and the installation of thermal cameras.
Alex Henrique da Costa, Data Infrastructure Manager at APS, emphasizes that “The integration of resources and skills among APS teams has generated concrete results for the operational efficiency of the port, optimizing investments and accelerating deliveries.”
With an ambitious portfolio, APS is advancing with initiatives such as the implementation of a private 5G network, the Vessel Traffic Management and Information System (VTMIS), and the launch of an app for the public to report maintenance demands.
These actions highlight APS’s commitment to strengthening the Port of Santos as one of the main logistics hubs in the country and the world.
