Schulmberger and Subsea 7 Win Offshore Engineering Contract in the Pre-salt of the Bacalhau Field

Equinor Signed Contracts with Schulmberger and Subsea 7 for Front-end Engineering and Design (FEED) with Early Commitments and Pre-investments for Phase 1 of the Bacalhau Area (formerly Carcará) in Brazil.

In a statement, Subsea 7 reported that the awarded work was necessary to finalize the technical definition of the proposed development before Equinor makes final investment decisions (FID) at the end of 2020.

According to the company, the contract is based on a two-step award. The FEED and pre-investment are starting immediately, with an option for the execution phase under a “lump-sum turnkey” arrangement that includes engineering, procurement, construction, and installation for the entire SURF and SPS scope.
