The 1st Auction of the Year Held by the Federal Government Will Take Place on February 21!
The Ministry of Infrastructure Will Auction the Southern Stretch of BR-101/SC and the Winning Company Must Invest About R$ 7 Billion.
In total, 220 kilometers will be granted between the municipalities of Paulo Lopes/SC and São João do Sul/SC – the border of the state with Rio Grande do Sul. The winner of the auction will have the right to manage the highway for 30 years.
A new feature of this new round of concessions is the provision, in the notice, of the obligation to build Rest and Stopping Points (PPD) for truck drivers along the auctioned stretch of the highway, which includes 17 municipalities in Santa Catarina.
The notice also provides for a maximum toll fee of R$ 5.19 for the 220 km stretch. With the concession, nearly 4 thousand job vacancies will be generated, with an expected return of R$ 645 million to these municipalities through the collection of the Service Tax/ISS.
Among the benefits generated from the BR auction are the reduction of operational costs, travel time, and number of accidents. Safer, the highway will feature 98 km of additional lanes and 100% of the stretch monitored by cameras.
