With new electric bikes emerging in the market almost every day, even those who are attentive have difficulty staying updated on the news. Thus, at the forefront of sustainable urban mobility is Nakamura, a renowned Japanese bicycle company that recently launched its e-CrossCity electric bike.
The model is ideal for urban commuting, making it a great alternative for greener and less congested mobility, aiming to combine simplicity, efficiency, and practicality.

Changing the 5W30 oil to 10W40 to “compensate for clearances” after the Corolla surpasses 150,000 km can damage the engine, warns a technical consultant.
As the name suggests, the model is ideal for city riding. It presents itself as a compact electric bicycle, small enough for simple commuting, yet versatile enough to carry an impressive payload.
The electric bicycle can achieve this feat thanks to its integrated rear rack. Although simple, the accessory can be adapted in whatever way the cyclist desires, capable of carrying anything from a backpack to a child seat.
However, unlike other current electric bicycles, consumers will not find the expected technology in the e-Cross City. The model offers a comfortable ride but does not even have suspension. However, it delivers everything it promises, featuring a 45 Nm torque motor and a 460 Wh battery, capable of reaching 72 km on a single charge.
In Nakamura’s new electric bicycle, the gear shift is also traditional, like that of a regular bicycle, and the transmission system has seven speeds. What really compensates in the new electric bicycle is its price of €1,199.99, which in direct conversion is approximately R$ 6,320. Considering that other models easily exceed R$ 10 thousand in direct conversion, importing this model could be a great option for those who are keen on having an electric bike.
Electric Bike for Tech Lovers
For those looking to spend little, Nakamura’s model is excellent. However, if you are looking for a model with a bit more technology, the Dutch company LEMMO has launched a new affordable electric bicycle.
The vehicle stands out for its modular construction and ability to transform into a regular bicycle. What changes in the electric bicycle is its innovative motor, as its patented technology disconnects the rear hub drive with just the turn of a button.
The LEMMO bicycle costs €1,900, which in direct conversion is R$ 10,600 for a version with chain transmission and €2,190 for a belt transmission configuration.
Electric Bicycle Market Grows in Recent Years

In an optimistic scenario, the projected expansion by the end of 2023 will be 27%, reaching 57 thousand units. In a conservative view, projections for the year indicate a growth of 19% with 53 thousand units.
