Selection Process Steps
The UNILAB competition consists of three main stages, all aimed at thoroughly assessing the knowledge and competence of the candidates. The stages are:
- Written Exam: of an eliminatory nature, where the candidate will be tested on theoretical and practical questions related to the area of expertise.
- Teaching Exam: also eliminatory, in which the candidate must deliver a lecture on a randomly drawn topic, demonstrating their pedagogical skills and mastery of the content.
- Title Evaluation: a classificatory stage, where academic credentials, intellectual production, and professional experience of the candidates will be analyzed.
If there is a tie between candidates, UNILAB will adopt the following tie-breaking criteria, in this order:
- Older age, considering candidates who are 60 years or older, as provided for in the Statute of the Elderly;
- Highest score in intellectual production published in the last five years;
- Highest score in teaching activities;
- Highest score in research and extension activities.
Validity of the Competition and Extension
The UNILAB public competition will be valid for one year, starting from the date of final result homologation, and may be extended for an equal period, as decided by the University. This extension of the deadline increases the chances of convocations for those approved, becoming an excellent opportunity for those seeking stability in their academic career.
