The Ministry of Planning
The Ministry of Planning, Development and Management (MP) is a Brazilian federal government body responsible for formulating planning policies and promoting the country's sustainable development. Its mission is to coordinate the preparation and implementation of the Multi-Year Plan (PPA), which establishes the government's guidelines, objectives and goals for a period of four years.
Furthermore, the MP is responsible for coordinating actions to modernize public management, promoting the efficiency and quality of public services, and articulating with other government bodies and entities to achieve the government's strategic objectives.
Throughout its history, the Ministry of Planning has undergone several reforms and restructuring to adapt to changes in the country's economic and political context. In 2019, the MP was incorporated into the Ministry of Economy, as part of an administrative reorganization carried out by the federal government. This integration aimed to centralize economic and management policies in a single body, aiming for greater efficiency and synergy between related areas.
