Only a Few Pending Issues Remain for the Approval of the Macaé Port Construction; The Road Project Connecting the Development to the Tube Park Has Also Progressed
There was a meeting last week between representatives of Tepor and the City Hall regarding the construction of the Port in Macaé, as well as some environmental agencies. Neighboring municipalities to Macaé, such as Campos dos Goytacazes, are also interested in bringing this project to their city, launching a large campaign to ensure the port does “not enter” Macaé.
In this meeting, the environmental team granted a positive permit for deliberation, given the increase in the port project that was originally 1200 meters from the coast and has now increased to 4200 meters. This change had to be made because the environmental protection area of the Jurubatiba Park was at risk.
The Public Hearing Will Be Next Week
On November 7, the Public Hearing for deliberating the project will take place at 7 PM at the Roberto Marinho Journalist Convention Center; the entire population of the city is invited to attend in order to learn about all the steps to be followed from here.
