Installed in Luocheng, in the autonomous region of Guangxi, the Cliff Bookstore combines books, wood, glass, and a 100-million-year-old rock over a monumental abyss in China
The Cliff Bookstore in China draws attention for bringing together reading, architecture, and nature on a 100-million-year-old rocky face, at the edge of a several hundred-meter deep crater in Luocheng, in the autonomous region of Guangxi.

The bookstore in China was created to unite the natural wonders of the region with the human spirit. By combining the ancient cliff with reading, the project formed a unique cultural space for visitors, amidst nature.
Landscape and Arrival

In front of the bookstore, visitors observe a vast abyss beneath their feet. In the distance, rolling mountains receive clouds and mist that slowly pass over the hills, forming a scene reminiscent of a grand open painting.
