According to the Director of Corporate Affairs at ONS, Elisa Bastos, the initiative aims to prepare professionals to lead future transformations.
The goal is to combine technical and human skills in a structured development experience.
ONS and Its Relevance to the Energy Sector
Established to coordinate and control the generation and transmission installations of electric energy in the National Interconnected System (SIN), ONS plays a strategic role, ensuring balance and reliability.
Currently, the entity operates in 22 river basins and additionally controls 161 hydroelectric power plants, which are expected to reach almost 110 GW of capacity by 2029.
As a result, about 90% of the Brazilian electric matrix comes from renewable sources, solidifying the country as a global reference in sustainability and energy innovation.
With teams operating around the clock and, therefore, highly prepared, the entity operates 24 hours a day in control centers located in Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Recife, and Florianópolis.
Finally, this continuous operation reinforces its strategic position in the national energy sector and thus ensures stability for Brazil’s sustained economic growth.
