On June 13, Petrobras will start the first of two seismic acquisitions for the monitoring project in the Sapinhoá field, in the pre-salt layer, in the Santos Basin
Petrobras published in a note, last night, that it will start, on June 13, the first of the two seismic acquisitions of the monitoring project of the field of Sapinhoá, in the pre-salt in the Santos Basin. Seismic acquisition is an important tool for managing the deposit (reservoirs) and optimizing production systems, seeking to maximize the value of assets by increasing the recovery factor of the deposits. Surveys with seismic monitoring by Petrobras, in the pre-salt layer, in the Santos Basin
The new Petrobras surveys, in the pre-salt layer, in the Santos Basin, will use a technological solution called Ocean Bottom Nodes (OBN), which allows better collection of information from the deposit, from sensors installed on the ocean floor, to obtain better seismic response in geologically complex areas, such as the pre-salt layer.
Surveying 3D geophysical data at different times, or 4D acquisition, allows geoscientists and reservoir engineers to track fluid displacement, observe oil and water saturation variation, and identify effects of rock-fluid interaction and geomechanical behavior of the reservoirs, contributing to better management of oil recovery from the deposit and development of production in the Sapinhoá field, which is operated by Petrobras.

The contract with Seabed Geosolutions do Brasil
The contract signed between Petrobras and the company Seabed Geosolutions do Brasil includes the acquisition and 3D and 4D geophysical processing, with total investments of around US$ 118 million. The base seismic (3D), with an area of 575 km², is being started this month and the seismic acquisition monitor (4D), with an area of 478 km², is scheduled to start in 2024.
Petrobras' research in the Sapinhoá field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt, will use the Viking Submarine, deployed by remotely operated vehicles, as well as a vessel of marine origin. The survey is to be acquired in water depths greater than 2.200m and is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2021. The total combined duration of the two surveys is estimated to be around eight months.
The Sapinhoá field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt, is operated by Petrobras with a 45% stake, in partnership with Shell Brasil Petróleo (30%) and Repsol Sinopec Brasil (25%).

Petrobras signed a contract with Keppel Shipyard Limited, from Singapore, for the construction of the FPSO P-78 platform, which will be located in the Búzios field, located in the Santos Basin pre-salt layer. The state-owned company informed, in a note, that the FPSO P-78 could start its production in 2024, and the contract with Keppel still provides for service to a local content corresponding to 25%, with services that will be provided in Brazil, through partnerships with national or outsourced shipbuilding companies.
Petrobras said, in a statement to the market, that it expects the FPSO-type platform (capable of storing and transferring oil) to start operating by 2024. In addition, the state-owned company added that the FPSO P-78 will have a daily processing capacity of 180 thousand barrels of oil and 7,2 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.
