The Brazilian Oil Company Petrobras Will Hire Prosafe’s Accommodation Unit, the Safe Eurus.
Under the agreement signed with Prosafe, Petrobras will charter the semi-submersible vessel Safe Eurus for offshore safety and maintenance support in Brazil. The contract is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2019 with a firm commitment of three years. This will be the first job for the Safe Eurus. The total contract value is approximately US$ 80 million.
Built by COSCO in China, the Safe Eurus will be the third Prosafe vessel under a license in Brazil, with the sister ship Safe Notos also chartered to Petrobras, and the Safe Concordia with the Japanese MODEC.
The Safe Eurus, a dynamic positioning (DP3) semi-submersible safety and maintenance support vessel, can accommodate up to 500 people.
Jesper Kragh Andresen, CEO of Prosafe, says: “Prosafe is proud to secure this contract to continue the strong partnership with Petrobras built over 8 years of Brazilian operations.”
