The bidding will be opened in early February by Petrobras, this mega project will cost billions and will be one of the largest in the Brazilian telecommunications sector

[supsystic-social-sharing id='1′]A Petrobras will open at the beginning of next month Grand bid for a project that promises to make telecommunications companies around the world mobilize and fight like crazy dogs to get this contract: A connection of 36 oil platforms through underwater fiber optics. The state-owned company released that the initial value for entering the bidding will be between R$ 963 million and R$ 1,2 billion.

The project foresees a connection network through optical cables with more or less 1.700 kilometers for a minimum contract of 20 years. It will be allowed to create consortia for exchanging expertise and machinery manufacturers. Specialists say that it is one of the biggest bids in the country promoted by Petrobras this year and one of the biggest in terms of complexity in the offshore segment.

At this point, companies from Germany, the United States, China, Japan and Brazil, such as Embratel, have already spoken out and shown interest in the project, but surely as soon as this news spreads around the world, more companies will join the "Hunger Games".  That's where the good news comes! THE NETWORK WILL LEAVE RIO DE JANEIRO AND WILL HAVE A SUPPORT POINT IN THE CITY OF MACAÉ-RJ. Check out the special publication in the newspaper below:

Macaé will have a fiber optic backup point

To reduce Petrobras' costs, the winning consortium will be allowed to rent its network to other companies that need an internet connection. You must be wondering: Who will rent internet data connection in the middle of the ocean? Exploration rigs, cruise ships, merchants and other professionals working on the high seas. Remembering that the objective of this undertaking is the quick exchange of production data in the Campos and Santos basins, since by conventional means these statistics are very expensive. Those who work on board know how “Pawn” suffers from slow internet in offshore units, will we now be able to browse without interruptions?
