The year 2024 marks a pivotal moment for Peugeot in Brazil, with the launch of three models that promise to change consumer expectations in terms of design, performance, and environmental technology. The compact Peugeot 208 Turbo comes with visual and mechanical updates, the Peugeot 2008 SUV brings improvements in technology and sustainability, while the Peugeot 408X, a coupe-style crossover, promises to elevate the level of sophistication and hybrid performance in the market.
New Peugeot 208 Turbo 2024
The new Peugeot 208, already known in Europe, will receive a facelift before arriving in Brazil. This facelift includes a new 1.0 Turbo engine, shared with some Fiat models, promising enhanced performance. The visual changes encompass a new front grille, bumper, and a redesign of the lighting, giving the car a more modern and aggressive look, reminiscent of a feline.
The interior of the new 208 has also undergone significant updates. Equipped with a multimedia center ranging from 7 to 10 inches and a 10-inch digital instrument panel with 3D configurations in the higher trims, the car promises an advanced technological experience. Additionally, the new center console and the inclusion of button controls for the automatic transmission elevate the level of sophistication.

Peugeot 2008 2024
The Peugeot 2008 2024 incorporates a refreshed design, featuring new LED headlights and a lighting signature inspired by the 508 model. The updated brand logo and new inserts in the grille and bumper reinforce the vehicle’s modernity. Inside, there are updated fabrics and a 10-inch instrument panel, with a 3D screen option for the GT models.
All versions now have a 10-inch touchscreen for the updated infotainment system, featuring wireless smartphone compatibility and the ability for online updates. Ambient lighting, now with eight colors, and new USB and USB-C ports, along with a more powerful inductive charger, add a touch of sophistication.
The big news is the new 1.2 Turbo PureTech engine with a mild hybrid system of 48 volts, offering options of 100 or 136 horsepower. Additionally, the electric version of the 2008 now boasts a 15% more powerful engine, with 156 horsepower, and a 54 kWh battery, increasing its range to 406 km.
In Brazil, the new Peugeot 2008 will be imported from Argentina, featuring the 1.0 Turbo engine with 130 horsepower, similar to those in the Fiat Pulse and Fastback models. There is also the possibility of a 1.3 Turbo engine with 180 horsepower, reinforcing the model’s versatility. The production of the new Peugeot 2008 2024 is expected to begin in mid-year, with the vehicle hitting the stores in early 2024.
Peugeot 408 X
The model has been registered with the National Institute of Industrial Property (Inpi), which means there is a strong possibility that the car will be launched in Brazil; however, Peugeot has not yet made an official announcement. The Peugeot 408 X stands out for its modern design and futuristic lines. With stylized wheels and a high beltline, the car has an imposing appearance. The full LED dual headlights and taillights designed with pronounced details complement its elegant look.
Lighting is a strong point of the 408 X, with LED headlights that mimic a lion’s fangs, an iconic symbol of the brand. The model has generous dimensions, measuring 4.68 meters in length and 2.78 meters in wheelbase, ensuring ample interior space.
The EB 1.2 PureTech Turbo engine with 130 horsepower and 23.4 kgfm of torque provides robust performance. Additionally, the plug-in hybrid versions feature the Prince 1.6 eXTHP engine (now Politec Turbo), offering 150 to 180 horsepower and up to 25.5 kgfm of torque. Complementing this, the electric motor provides 110 horsepower, delivering a combined power of up to 225 horsepower.
The 408 X is equipped with a lithium battery of 2.4 kWh, ensuring up to 55 km of range in electric mode. This positions the 408 X as a potentially attractive option for the Brazilian market, especially for those seeking a more sustainable and efficient alternative.
