The state of Piauí launches this Monday (24th), at the Palácio de Karnak in Teresina, a major program that will create over 53 thousand annual slots in technical courses, higher education courses, and vocational training.
The action, called More Training, More Income, will be conducted by the State Government in partnership with educational institutions, research centers, funding agencies, and the S System.
The goal is to quickly and strategically address real demands of the job market, which is growing rapidly in various sectors in Piauí.

Thus, the government seeks to offer new educational opportunities and prepare professionals for expanding fields such as renewable energy, technology, agribusiness, logistics, services, and tourism.
The initiative arises because, according to the state, these areas face a lack of qualified labor and require updated training to keep pace with the local economy.
Program Targets Real Challenges of the Job Market in Piauí
According to the Government of Piauí, the More Training, More Income initiative is born to respond to “concrete demands of the job market,” especially in strategic sectors that already generate thousands of jobs in the state.
Thus, the creation of slots prioritizes practical skills that engage with the needs of companies and the technological transformations advancing in the country.
Additionally, the program stands out for its strong institutional collaboration. It brings together public universities, innovation centers, funding agencies, S System entities, and various technological institutions, which enhances the reach and quality of training.
This set, therefore, tends to strengthen both technical courses and higher education courses, increasing Piauí’s presence among the states that invest the most in education and training.
Slots Include Technical Courses, Undergraduate Programs, Graduate Studies, and Short-Term Specializations
The educational package includes various modalities, making it easier for different profiles of students and workers to access. Thus, the initiative offers:
- Technical courses in high-demand areas;
- Undergraduate courses;
- Postgraduate studies focused on innovation and regional development;
- Short-term training aimed at quick insertion in the job market.
In this way, the government aims to create flexible pathways for those who wish to qualify, change fields, or re-enter the job market. Meanwhile, local companies also gain strength by receiving more prepared professionals aligned with current demands.
Education as a Strategy to Generate Income and New Opportunities
For the state secretary of education, Washington Bandeira, the initiative reinforces the importance of a strong curriculum. According to him, current competitiveness requires constant preparation and updating.
He emphasizes:
“All this offering is planned based on an intense dialogue with companies and the government, identifying the thousands of job openings and business opportunities emerging in the state.”
The manager also highlights the social impact:
“It’s another opportunity for Piauí residents to advance, qualify, and conquer new spaces in the workforce.”
His statements reinforce that the program is not limited to opening slots but aims to stimulate economic development and productive inclusion, strengthening careers and boosting strategic sectors in Piauí.
Opportunities Should Boost Employability and Income in Piauí
Finally, the More Training, More Income initiative presents itself as one of the largest educational projects ever announced by the state. In addition to increasing access to formal education, it strengthens the connection between technical courses, higher education courses, and the urgent needs of the job market.
Thus, the program becomes a gateway for thousands of Piauí residents seeking real growth opportunities, income, and professional development—while preparing Piauí for the economic challenges of the coming years.
