The journalist Cesar Tralli, from Rede Globo, reported a possible authorization for a new PF (Federal Police) Exam still in 2024, aiming to fill 2,000 positions and strengthen firearm oversight in Brazil.
The Federal Police, seeking to expand its control over firearms in the country, plans to conduct an exam to fill 2,000 positions. This initiative, revealed by the PF’s general director, Andrei Passos, focuses on strengthening firearm oversight in Shooting Clubs and with CACs (Collectors, Shooters, and Hunters).
Necessary Reinforcement for Oversight
The general director emphasizes the need to hire an additional 2,000 police officers and expand state police stations to achieve a more effective control. The PF’s management proposal is to promote periodic exams, ensuring not only the replacement of retiring officers but also an increase in personnel, which currently has only 15,000 officers.
