The images show the duplication of the access road, the construction site for works, beams already positioned, and the structure that will support the cable-stayed section.
Progress of the Work: Half Already Completed
According to the technical report, the construction of the bridge is divided into two main parts: the cable-stayed section and the precast section.
In recent months, there has been significant progress in the installation of piles, driving, excavation, and concreting, as well as the manufacturing and launching of the longitudinal beams.
In the cable-stayed section, which will feature elevated towers and support cables, the piles and crown blocks have been completed, along with the concreting of the main pillars.
The next step will be the launching segment, whose shoring technique will allow the construction of large spans without the need for bracing.
In the precast section, the installation of precast concrete slabs – known as pre-slabs – is in an advanced stage.
These slabs will serve as the base for the final slab of the bridge. Additionally, the installation of fixed cranes on the towers will facilitate the movement of materials and equipment in the upcoming phases of the project.

Robust Infrastructure and Economic Impact
So far, 40 piles have been completed, consisting of 16 from the cable-stayed section and 24 from the precast section.
In total, the bridge will have 64 piles upon completion.
In the superstructure, work is advancing with the manufacturing of precast longitudinal beams, of which 66 have been produced and 41 installed in the cross members.
The project will not only improve traffic in the region, eliminating dependence on ferries for crossing, but also boost tourism and the local economy.
With the bridge, a significant increase in visitor circulation is expected, benefiting hotels, restaurants, and local commerce.
Additionally, experts point out that the project could stimulate the real estate sector, increasing the value of land and properties in the area as the infrastructure develops and attracts new investors.
Challenges and Completion Forecast
Despite the rapid pace, the project faces challenges, such as adverse weather conditions and complex logistics for material transport.
However, the official forecast remains unchanged: the bridge is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
The construction also generates impacts on the availability of jobs.
It is estimated that hundreds of workers are directly involved in the project, stimulating the local economy and promoting professional training in the infrastructure sector.
According to experts, the project has the potential to further stimulate hiring in the construction sector and related services, such as transport and food for the workers.
A Historic Project for Paraná
The Guaratuba Bridge represents a milestone in Paraná’s infrastructure, connecting cities and promoting sustainable development.
Upon completion, it is expected to not only provide a leap in urban mobility but also significant economic growth for the entire coastal region.
In addition to the immediate benefits, the bridge is part of a set of initiatives aimed at modernizing transportation infrastructure in the state.
Authorities emphasize that the new crossing could pave the way for new connectivity projects in Paraná, better integrating the coast with the rest of the state and facilitating the flow of agricultural and industrial products. Click to see the project in real-time!
