City Hall Opens Selective Process Without Exam with 800 Positions in Commerce, Telemarketing, Construction, and Gastronomy Sectors

São Paulo City Hall Opens New Selection Process with Hundreds of Job Openings for Candidates of All Education Levels and Different Areas.

The Support Center for Work and Entrepreneurship (CATE), from the São Paulo City Hall, is open for registrations for a selection process aimed at filling 800 job vacancies this week. The vacancies offered primarily cover the sectors of commerce, construction, services, and gastronomy, providing a wide range of opportunities for candidates interested in entering or re-entering the job market. This initiative represents a significant effort by the São Paulo City Hall to foster employment and support entrepreneurship in the city.

The SP City Hall is offering hundreds of vacancies in its selection process, including more than 30 job openings that prioritize people with disabilities in the positions of social education advisor, telemarketing operator, and administrative assistant.

In a telemarketing operation, there are also more than ten positions available for those seeking internships, without experience. For those who want to work in customer service, there are over 170 vacancies in stores, supermarkets, bakeries, and snack bars, whether to work in food preparation, at the counter, or at the register. Some of these hires are temporary.

A large portion of the job vacancies does not require any previous professional experience; however, the education level ranges from incomplete elementary to complete high school. The salaries offered in the SP City Hall selection process range from R$ 1,080 to R$ 2,097.

There are also temporary job openings, with a chance of permanent placement, in the positions of logistics assistant, totaling more than 50. Most require a complete high school education and no experience; however, positions in the administrative area require a complete higher education and at least six months of experience.

The salaries range from R$ 1,820 to R$ 2,518. For cleaning assistants, there are more than 150 job openings in the SP City Hall selection process across all regions, with 25 of them targeted at people with disabilities. Most require candidates to have elementary level education and three to six months of experience. Salaries start at R$ 954 and go up to R$ 2,133.

Workers interested in the job openings selection process by the SP City Hall can use the Cate Portal or go to one of the 27 physical service units.

The technical team from the network of service posts evaluates the registrations made online and calls candidates according to the job profiles, requiring contact information such as a cell phone number and email during the form completion. Registrations can be made until February 21, Wednesday, at 6 PM.

According to Aline Cardoso, Municipal Secretary of Economic Development and Labor, this week sees a significant increase in job openings due to post-Carnival hiring flow. The job openings offered by the SP City Hall take into account the demand for more inclusion in companies to meet the diverse profiles of São Paulo citizens seeking CATE.

São Paulo City Hall Investing in Employability

According to the Formal Employment research by Fundação Seade, between January and October 2023, São Paulo generated over 500,000 formal jobs. The numbers show consistent growth, with a balance of 69,000 jobs in just the last month. 

Considering the last 12 months, São Paulo achieved a balance of 403,000 new jobs, representing a growth of 3.1%, very close to the national average of 3.4%. The most significant results were in the capital (128,000), Greater São Paulo (74,000), and the regions of Campinas (61,000), Sorocaba (21,000), and São José dos Campos (21,000), which together accounted for 76% of the jobs generated in the state.
