Futura Project by Focus Energia Will Be the Largest Solar Power Plant Under Construction with Bifacial Modules, Generating About 8 Thousand Jobs
Focus Energia, an integrated energy business platform, reported that in the first phase of the Futura Project – construction of a solar power plant in Bahia – about 8,000 job opportunities may be generated during the construction of the project. The start of construction is scheduled for April of this year, and the commercial operation of the plant is expected to commence in the first half of 2022.
The Solar Power Plant and Job Generation in Bahia
The plant is located about 40 kilometers from the municipality of Juazeiro in the state of Bahia. Upon completion of the project, its total capacity will be approximately 852 MWp, with an estimated investment of over 2.2 billion reais, which will boost the region’s economy by generating jobs during construction.
Considering the environmental licenses issued, the first phase of the project will encompass about 2,000 hectares of land for the implementation of 22 plants, each with 38.73 MWp. It is estimated that more than 8,000 direct and indirect jobs will be created throughout the construction.

The world has bet on green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, but now faces the side effect: producing 1 kilogram requires about 9 liters of ultrapure water, and the largest projects on the planet are precisely in the driest regions of the Earth, where water is already scarce for people.
Supply of Equipment for the Solar Energy Project
Spanish solar tracker manufacturer Soltec Power Holdings recently announced it will supply its equipment for the Futura I solar energy project, along with Chinese inverter manufacturer Sungrow.
The inverter company recently received an order from Brazilian energy company Focus Energia for implementation in the Futura I solar energy project. Sungrow will deliver over 100 units of its MVS6300-LV transformation stations and more than 3,000 solar inverters of the SG250HX model. The company will also provide commissioning and startup services.
