Federal Fluminense University (UFF), through the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics, has just launched the PIGEAD Announcement No. 01/2025, which opens registrations for the free online (EAD) Postgraduate Lato Sensu Course in Planning, Implementation, and Management of Distance Education. This is a unique opportunity for basic education teachers and educational managers who wish to specialize and enhance their skills in the field of distance learning. With 180 spots distributed across different locations in the state of Rio de Janeiro, the course offers excellent continuing education.
The primary objective of the free course is to train tutors, authors of didactic materials, and managers to work on distance education projects, based on UFF’s consolidated experience. With a total workload of 420 hours, the program will be conducted continuously in the online (EAD) format, using the MOODLE Virtual Learning Environment (AVA). The curriculum includes subjects such as Fundamentals of Distance Education, Planning of Distance Courses, and Production of Didactic Material, as well as a Final Course Project (TFC).

How Does the Selection Process Work?
The selection process will be conducted in two phases: registration and evaluation. To register, it is necessary to fill out the form and submit the relevant documentation. The selection criteria include analysis of courses and experience in the field of education. 10% of the spots are reserved for technical-administrative staff and faculty at UFF.
Who Can Participate?
To apply for the postgraduate course, it is necessary to have a degree recognized by MEC and work as a basic education teacher or educational manager. Additionally, it is required to have internet access and basic computer skills to attend activities in the virtual environment.
